6 Industry News Home Buyer Show to help all property buyers Home buyers and property investors of all levels will benefit from a host of educational opportunities at the upcoming Home Buyer Show at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre this July. Earthworks prepare site for Boggo Road Urban Village The process of transforming the Boggo Road Gaol site at Dutton Park into a vibrant, inner-city urban village reached another milestone this week as earthworks began on the $45.5 million project. Preliminary infrastructure works – including new roads, footpaths, bicycle paths, and public parks – have begun and are expected to be completed in June 2009. Selected residential and mixed-use sites will then be sold to the private sector for development. The multi-use area will include residential, retail, commercial and recreational facilities with around 25 per cent of the 500 residential units designed as affordable housing. Watpac is also overseeing the development of Australia’s first dedicated Ecosciences Precinct at the Boggo Road Urban Village and a new Health and Food Sciences Precinct expanding on existing Queensland Health facilities at Coopers Plains. Now more than ever, home buyers and investors need to do their research, understand market conditions, and have access to all the right independent advice from reliable sources to make informed buying decisions. The Home Buyer Show will provide first-, second- and third-time buyers with all the information they need to help reduce the impact of rising interest rates and property prices so they can finance, find and purchase their next property. This major event will present one of the most comprehensive educational seminar programs ever staged in Queensland for property buyers and is delivered by independent experts from industry associations and government, including the REIQ, State Revenue Office, Office of Fair Trading and Australian Tax Office. A major exhibition will also showcase all the latest products and services for property buyers, including the most competitive home loans, new home builders, residential communities, house and land packages, off-the-plan developments, land estates, established homes, property inspection, insurance and conveyancing companies. With attractive incentives for REIQ accredited agencies, exhibiting at the Brisbane Home Buyer Show is an incredibly targeted and cost-effective marketing platform for your agency to reach literally thousands of active home buyers, sellers and investors face-toface. The Home Buyer Show will be held on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday 27 July from 10am to 4pm.
